MLB Odds – ‘10 Spring Training around the corner
In just a few weeks the catchers and pitchers will be reporting to company headquarters and within a month or two Spring Training for the 2010 season will officially begin. It’s hard to believe that several months have already passed since the Yankees and their team of hired mercenaries won their 700th World Series and infuriated half of the baseball fan base by entirely enthralling the other half of baseball fans the world over that adores the baseball giant.
We can only hope that the 2010 MLB odds season includes as many exciting, if somewhat predictable moments, as the 2009 MLB odds season. There was the inevitable return of the Yankees to the top of the baseball standings and love them or hate them they played good baseball, deserved to win the title, and that should be applauded.
There was Albert Pujols winning the MVP award again; highly predictable, yes. But nonetheless thrilling watching him master opposing pitchers. And staying the NFL, there was little Tim Lincicum baffling behemoth opponents in the batter’s box once again and taking home the Cy Young once again.
In the AL Zach Grienke made the world care about the Kansas City Royals on his way to collecting the Cy Young. Let’s hope he can continue to make people care enough for the ownership to take note and spend some cash on a competitive line up. For once the NL numbers at the plate out flashed those of their AL contemporaries. Perhaps this trend will continue in 2010? Maybe, but the thing that matters most is that spring training is just around the corner and world of endless opportunity awaits.
