MLB Betting Houston Astros at Saint Louis Cardinals MLB Odds
In the world of MLB odds matchups there two kinds of matchups: evenly matched baseball odds competitions and blowouts. When the Houston Astros visit the St Louis Cardinals on April 14th it will be the latter.
The Astros have been far and away the worst team in the MLB betting so far in 2010 and there is little reason to believe that this team’s fate in the MLB odds competition is going to change any time quickly. The team is 0-7 and is off to one of the worst starts in franchise history. Aside from a few aging bats one strong starter this team is one of the weakest in baseball betting.
Contrast that with the white-hot start St Louis Cardinals, the early favorite in the MLB odds to win the NL Championship betting title, and you have the perfect recipe for a baseball betting blood bath. The Red Birds are off to a 5-2 start of the season, all but one of the wins coming on the road rather than the very baseball betting friendly confines of the Card’s home stadium.
The Cards have an embarrassment of riches in their starting rotation and could very realistically have three 20-game winners on their MLB betting starting rotation. Add to that the meat of their lineup (Albert Pujols and Matt Holiday) and it becomes very difficult to find a way to beat this team in the MLB odds competition. Both of these sluggers are off to torrid starts (Pujols .407 BA, 5 HRs; Holliday .379, 3 HRs) and have given opposing pitchers in the baseball betting competition fits.
The Cards are the better team in this MLB odds match up in every single statistical category and will be sending an impressive Brad Penny to the mound (7.0 innings, 1.29 ERA in first MLB odds start). The ‘Stros will counter with an ineffective Brett Myers (6.0 ERA) and the result should be another dominant night by Pujols and Co. and all but guaranteed Cardinals victory in the baseball betting.
