Tampa Bay, Baseball Betting and the League

Tampa Bay RaysWhen it comes to baseball betting the spring training leagues are not much more than a warm up –a highly enjoyable and entertaining warm up, but a warm up nonetheless. The same is true of the action on the field: it’s not quite MLB odds caliber competition but it’s still pretty good. And this spring no team has been as dominant in the Grapefruit League sports betting as the Tampa Bay Rays.

The Rays burst onto the baseball betting two seasons ago after more than a decade in MLB odds purgatory as they won the AL East and made a deep run into the MLB betting postseason but ultimately falling short of winning the World Series. Last year, with expectations as big as they’ve ever been in the franchise’s brief baseball wagering history; the team fell well short of reaching their goals or even reaching the MLB betting postseason for that matter.

But if Spring Training success is any indication of what’s to come in the MLB betting regular season than the future looks bright for the Rays. Right now the team sits atop of the Grapefruit League standings with a 13-7 record, one game better than the Atlanta Braves and a 1.5 games better than the Detroit Tigers.

The team’s success shouldn’t be considered a Spring Training fluke either. The Rays are one of the better teams in baseball betting and if they didn’t play in the most competitive division in the MLB odds competition it’s very likely they’d have already won multiple division titles.

Led at the plate by young sluggers Evan Longoria and Ben Zobrist as well as baseball wagering greybeard Carlos Pena, this lineup is formidable. On the mound the team also has a solid rotation and this should be the year that David Price finally steps into the role of staff ace. The Grape Fruit League isn’t exactly the NL East, but the Rays are to a terrific start to upcoming baseball gambling season.
