Colorado Rockies at San Francisco Giants
The Colorado Rockies are a young MLB franchise but in the team’s brief existence it’s already provided some of the most exciting moments in baseball betting over the past two decades. The San Fran Giants, on the other hand, are one of the oldest franchises in the MLB odds action and have a long and rich tradition. The two contrasting cultures and traditions are what make baseball wagering so interesting and on May 1st these two teams will go head to head in Game 1 of a two-game MLB betting series.
The Colorado Rockies are off to a decent start this season (10-9) and are just 1.5 games behind the NL West leading San Diego Padres. But the Giants have been just a bit better in the baseball betting competition and at 10-8 is just a game behind the Padres. Both teams would love to be atop the NL West standings and one of them very well could be after this May 1st showdown in the MLB odds action.
The secret to the Giants success is pitching and lots of it. Led by two time reigning Cy Young winner Tin Lincecum, San Fran has one of the best starting rotations in baseball betting. Linceum is off to a good start defending his Cy Young awards and with a 4-0 record and 1.00 ERA he’s got some of the best stats of any pitcher in the MLB betting action.
But it’s likely Brad Penney will be on the mound for the Giants in this MLB odd matchup and he is no Lincecum. The Rockies should be able to get some wood on the ball and we could expect to see plenty of offense in this game even though that is not one of the Giants strong suits. The Rockies could send Jorge de la Rosa to the mound and that could be challenging for the offensively challenged Giants as he’s off to a decent start to the baseball odds season. De la Rosa has 3 wins on the season but his 3.91 ERA is nothing to write home about.
Look for plenty of runs in this baseball betting matchup and the Giants to pull out a win at home.
