Baseball Betting – Toronto Blue Jays Pitching staff 2010

Toronto Blue JaysFor the past several years Roy Halladay has been the face the of the Toronto Blue Jays franchise. And with good reason as he’s been as consistent and as successful as just about any pitcher in baseball betting during his tenure with the Jays. But “Doc” Halladay has left the building that era (as well as any realistic shot at MLB odds success in ’10) is over.

Halladay was the most coveted player baseball available this off-season the Phillies offered a king’s ransom to bring him to the City of Brotherly Love and improve their already very good prospects in the MLB odds. But while hopes are high in Philly, baseball betting fans north of the border cannot be pleased.

Halladay’s departure has left a massive hole in the starting pitching rotation and that does not translate to much success in the upcoming MLB odds competition. His 17 wins, 208 Ks, and 2.79 ERA will be greatly missed and unless someone else steps up in the rotation this team will have a very long and unsuccessful MLB betting season in 2010.

At present, Ricky Romero, coming off a 13 win season in his rookie season in MLB wagering last season seems to be the team’s best hope. Talented youngster Shaun Marcum is highly touted and returning to lineup after missing last year’s MLB wagering campaign with a bum elbow.

The Jays also scored Blue Chip prospect Kyle Drabek in block buster trade for Halladay. But neither is going to win the Cy Young this season and neither will greatly enhance the team’s chances in the baseball odds.

At the plate the Jays were surprisingly strong last year and surprised many online sports betting fans with their productivity. This group will need to drive in run by the truck load to give itself much of a chance in the ultra competitive AL East because on paper it looks as if the Jays pitching staff is going to get abused this divisions top notch hitting.
