April 18th, 2010 Nicholas Weaver No comments

The Mets and Cards will do battle on the baseball betting diamond on Saturday April 18th. The New York will travel to Saint Louie and try and try and derail a Card’s team that has been all but unbeatable over the first two weeks of the MLB odds action. And it will be no easy task considering how poor the Mets have looked thus far in the 2010 baseball wagering.

The Mets (2-5), unfortunately find themselves in familiar territory so far this year: last in the NL East. Last year was a baseball betting aberration, or so the Met’s faithful hoped. After being absolutely depleted by injuries it was no wonder that the team finished near the bottom of the NL betting competition. But this MLB betting season was supposed to be different. This baseball betting matchup between a 5-2 team and a 2-5 team doesn’t seem all that appealing at first glance but if the right pieces fall into place it just might turn into a can’t miss MLB odds matchup on Saturday April 18th.

The St. Louis Cardinals (5-2) have been dominating opponents so far in the young 2010 MLB betting season. The team started the year with a 4-2 road record before opening up the baseball betting action at Busch Stadium.

The New York Mets (2-5) have done just the opposite of the Red Birds in the 2010 betting odds action. This team has been a bit of a disappointment after stocking up on free agent bats in the baseball betting off season and getting its pitching staff more or less healthy. When the team heads to St Louis it will definitely have its work cut out for it and no baseball odds maker is going to give the team much of a chance in the game. Unless ace Johan Santana is pitching. Read more…

2009 and was a disastrous MLB baseball betting season for the New York Mets. The season was practically over before it even began due to a string of injuries and unusual bad luck. In what was supposed to be a banner sports betting season, one in which the Mets were preseason favorites among MLB odds makers to win the NL East, the team was lucky just to finish the season.

But with plenty of time to rest and get healthy again the Mets are looking to reverse their fortunes in the 2010 baseball betting season and once again compete for the MLB wagering post season.

After finishing a hugely disappointing 2009 in last place in the NL East betting standings and winding up the season 23 games out (70-92) the Mets are ready to give the Phillies a run for the money. Read more…

Baseball Betting – Mets look to break post season curse in 2010 MLB Odds

Last year was not a good time to be a New York Mets fans. In fact, the entire past decade…no scratch that, almost the entire Mets baseball betting history, has not been a good time to be a Mets fan. Aside from the ‘Amazin’ ’69 season and some good years in the 1980s MLB odds with Straw and Gooden, there hasn’t been much to celebrate for the other team in the Big Apple.

But the most recent failures of the Mets in the baseball betting standings might be the toughest of all to swallow. The reason that the futility in the MLB odds that this team has suffered in the past few years is much more egregious is the fact that this team has spent hundreds of millions of dollars to be competitive, yet they finishes last season in the NL East baseball betting standings last season -23 games out of the first place Phillies! Baseball Betting – Will the Mets Misery End in 2010?

A new ballpark was supposed to help stop the bleeding. But it didn’t. And even worse the team’s plans to open an brand new sparkling ball park, one of the finest in the NL was overshadowed by its cross-town neighbors, just as everything the Mets do.

And not only did the Yankees new stadium (not coincidently scheduled to open the same year as the Mets new baseball betting stadium) outshine the new home of the Mets, but the team also won the World Series MLB odds championship. Read more…
